HD Death
- Every digital artists has to have a news section with the phrase "my computer just had a massive hard drive failure, files lost, house burning, pain and a misery...etc." This news section is no different. I'm trying to nurse my PC back to health. Looks like the HD died. Entropy I guess.
- Taking a short break from work, last month was intense. I worked with Mike Fink who is extremely cool.
- Went to AGUA tonight, saw the unveiling of Maya 7. Lots of good stuff to learn. Apparently I need to become an expert in some areas rather quickly...more later...
- Finally met the elusive Dariush Derakshani at his pre SIGGRAPH poker party. Wonderful guy, I owe him many drinks!
- Also met Mental Ray expert and fellow HDRI3D magazine author Boaz Livny. Very cool dude, looking forward to harrassing him for future MR advice.
- Ran into Drew Berry at AGUA tonight, congrats on becoming a Maya master!
- Looking forward top getting some new stuff on the website, I have a few things to scan.
- Most importantly, I started John Brown's sculpture class at Gnomon. He's pretty much the reason I wanted to move to CA. So far the class has exceeded my very high expectations. Lots of mind blowing stuff that will take much time for me to process. Maybe I'll have something good enough to post someday.
- Looking forward to getting some new Gnomon DVDs at SIGGRAPH.
- Next month I expect to be working twice as hard as the previous month. Hopefully I will survive.
