Back from Boston. Siggraph was a succes for me however the show itself was not outstanding. The Autodesk event was super nifty if you really enjoy watching people look uncomfortable on stage. I did my demo at the Wiley booth, met fun people and agreed to work on some fun/nerdy/sciencey type stuff in September. Looking forward to that.
Next week i'm buying a new computer. I'm going with a dual core dual proc Boxx. No time to fiddle with building my own and I can't wait for intel mac towers. I have a book to write and I gotta get crackin'. I just hope Maya works as advertised on a 64 bit machine.
I hope to rebuild my scientist character this weekend. I'm leaning towards a more heavily stylized cartoon now. Realism takes too long to render and is not as memorable as a fun cartoon.
This fall I'm focusing on learning MEL, effects, and maybe some fluid dynamics. I'm tempted to take more artsy classes but i make more money as an effects guy. We'll see when I figure out how much money and time I have.
Oh, and Bloopatone is now an LLC!!!! Just got my tax ID number, I'm going corporate! I have to wear a suit to work now.
