Brain surgery

Well, my old Mac laptop is no more...a Mac. I wiped the HD and installed Linux (Ubuntu). Pretty cool so far. lots of neat programs. Some of them even work! I have Blender going but still trying to get the navigation down using the trackpad.

Houdini class was very cool today. Looking forward to getting into dynamics. I have a few Maya tutorials going, will post them soon enough!

Don't Tell Maya

Took my first Houdinin calss at Gnomon with X-Ray Halperin. Awesome stuff. My life (outside of work) is all Houdini for the next 10 weeks. Very excited about its possibilities for molecular modelling!! I'm thinking I may try and import some Hammerhead RNA into Houdini for my class project. It would be cool to create an easy workflow for importing any PDB into Houdini with the least amount of file preparation as possible.

more heads

I did a few more after dinner. Women of various races:

heads up

I had a nice day off from work so I spent some time in Zbrush practicing head modelling. These heads are all based off the first one which I created a week or so a go using Maya and Zbrush. Clearly old men are the easiest type of head to creat. I tried making a likeness or two but it didn't work out very well. I guess I shpuld practice that more.

Here's a generic female head made from the generic male (still a bit on the manly side I suppose):

and some old dudes:

workin fer a livin'

Working all the time now so posts may be few. I'm at Prologue now working on XXXXXXX for XXXXXXX. The XXXXXXXX is really XXXXXXXXX and XXXXXXXX with the particle cache. Wow, I really XXXXXXXXed that one up.

Looking forward to my Houdini class which starts next weekend. My New Year's resolution is to make lots of money so I can pay down some credit card debt, looks like that won't be a problem.
